Default National Semis - #1 Ohio State v. #2 Georgetown

A much more even matchup from two coaches relatively new to their programs. Ohio State depends on Oden in the paint to define any game. That got them the Big10 championship and won their regional. BUT five of their rotational players are rookies at this level.

Georgetown used late runs against BC, Vandy and UNC to make it to the Final Four. They also have a dominant post presence. Green looks to add his name to Ewing, Mutumbo and Mourning. This school loves its 7 footers.

I don't think either Oden or Hibbert is a great big man. Both seem slow-footed and not highly skilled. I expect the game to be decided by other players.

One fascinating point regarding G'town's defeat of Carolina is that they beat us at our own game. Who would have thought that a club that plays a Princeton-style offense would win a game in which the final score was 96 - 84? From the little I've heard of the post-game commentary, this was a piece of coaching brilliance by JTIII. He told his players to just free-lance. They did and were extremely potent. Plus, as I noted earlier, they play excellent defense.

My tradition is to pull for the team that eliminates the 'Heels (it makes us look better, if we lose to the eventual champions), so I a Hoyas fan next weekend. This should be a tough game for them, though.

Wow....couldnt disagree more with you. Both are forces are the inside and if they team doesnt go away from them on Offense then they should be forces there as well.

But anyways as for the game, I dont see OSU losing they have survived to near loses and while I think this game will be close, I dont see OSU losing

Both of these teams have been down in their games so it will be an interesting game to watch them play a close game, or see how they play with a lead. I pick Georgetown to win this game.

I have always been a big believer in senior leadership, esp. at the guards.
They have all been through it before, and know to pace themselves, and
not get in a hurry.

I think that this has been shown quite clearly by Ron Lewis from OSU.
He has played in a lot of big games in his two years, and played in many
in HS. Together with Jamar Butler and Mike Conley, the Buckeyes have
great guards, and as long as the refs let Oden and Ivan Harris play, and
don't call the ticky tack fouls- the Guards should be the difference.

Jeff Green and Hibbert are terrific players, but Georgetown does not have
the guard play that OSU has.

Buckeyes in a squeaker- 72-70.

OSU Won. This sets up the unprecedented National Championship rematch between U of F and OSU (who both vied for the national title in College football just a few months ago!)
