One of my beer-drinkin' buddies from last night is a Tar Heel fan who sticks pretty close to the program (he told me in late September that John Bunting was out, no matter what). He says Ty Lawson is leaving at the end of this season. Everybody thinks he's making a mistake; nobody thinks he's ready for the NBA (though he is projected 15 - 20 in the draft), but Lawson doesn't like college life, isn't taking his studies seriously, and is ready to go make whatever the pros will pay him.
While I like Lawson as a player and would love to see him stay, I feel good about his departure opening up more playing time for Bobby Frasor. He's a prototypical college point guard who could be first-team All-America in his senior year. However, my buddy cautions me that Frasor's stress fracture is a serious problem. It will have to be broken and re-set at the end of the season, and there are no guarantees for a full recovery from that type of procedure (Bill Walton being perhaps the worst-case example). |

Good comparison in terms of being ready or not, I think its very possible he will just fall out of the NBA in 3 years like Joe did.
Joe had more talent and was more ready, imo, but it was still too early for him to jump. I mean aside from the fact that he isnt ready this draft is going to be EXTREMELY deep. Why would you come out in this draft ? If all the players that are " coming out " come out then he might not even go in the 1st round
