...now, it's up to the Tar Heels to do theirs. Unexpected upsets of Virginia by Wake Forest on Saturday and VA Tech by Clemson today, have put Carolina in position to seize clear first place in the ACC regular season standings. All we have to do is beat Duke this afternoon.
All of the advantages are on our side. We are the better team. We are playing at home. It is senior day. There is no team on the planet that we would rather beat, regardless of the stakes. Further, if we win, we get the comparatively cushy 1st seed in the upcoming conference tourney. If we don't, we get the 5th seed, which means we have to enter the tourney through the play-in round. With the strength of the conference this season, it will be all but impossible for any team to win four games next weekend. Thus, any chance of an ACC title depends on our beating Duke today. The Foulness of Durham, however, would like nothing better than to spoil our senior day, redeem their disappointing season by capturing a road victory against their bitterest rival and, in the process, dash our tournament chances. This could be one of the best basketball games this season, if not one of the best in the history of the Carolina-dook rivalry. |

Its going to be a greeat game today, I say extremely close...
However I think NC will pull it out for the above reasons that dlb said....it's destiny I guess you could say How far do you think NC will make it in the ACC tourney? I say they won't make the finals, and will be upsetted in the semis, but thats my opinion

I also think we'll be upset in the semis. Our second-most-likely result is to lose in the finals. I don't mind. The ACC Tourney doesn't mean all that much and I'd rather we get our last loss before the Big Dance begins.

I seen on ESPN that they said the only way NC will get a number 1 seed is by winning the ACC Tourney
More than likely they will be a 2, which isn't that bad. NC will be darn good next season, that is if Hansborough returns and Wright returns, which are both question marks.... Anyway I think they may make a pretty strong tourney run, but it is so tough to say

We're 3 in the RPI, so a win today should secure a 1-seed.
As if that and all the other stuff wasn't enough, Roy Williams is 3-4 against Krzyzewski. A win today will even his record. Plus K is 31-31 against Carolina (he has padded his record in the post-Smith era; he was something like 14-29 against The Great One). A win today will restore the 'Heels to their prior domination of Dook's Finest. |

Well UNC beat Duke by 14, pretty good game though in my opin....
I like watching the Duke-NC, Duke-Maryland game..... Hansbrough had a great game, he is going to be good I think at the professional level. Although I must admit I was rooting for Duke lol

Yeah that foul was just gruesome....
Hansbrough was bleeding all over his face, I agree with you it was a bogus foul and Henderson deserved to get ejected. Hopefully Hansbrough will be back to normal next week...
