Default Huskies beat Oregon and Oregon State - starting to roll?

Washington Defeats No. 7 Oregon, 89-77 :: Dentmon leads winning effort with 24 points.

Quote:
No Pac-10 team has ever made the NCAA tournament without a winning conference record. Washington must win eight of its last 10 games inside the Pac-10 to finish 10-8 in the league. The Huskies now have wins over then-No. 12 LSU and the Ducks (#7).
Considering the strength of the PAC-10 this year, it is possible that a team with a 9-9 record that makes it to the Conference semis would go to the Big Dance. I am certain that a team that makes it to the Finals with a .500 overall record would make the Tourney.

Washington's youth has hurt it, having lost games at USC (double OT), at Stanford(One Point) and at Cal (OT) that were all winnable.

The Dawgs have games coming up at Arizona (#19), at Pittsburgh (#9), and hosting USC (#26), UCLA (#2), WSU (#18).

Plenty of opportunities for quality wins, but the club also needs to win against the few lesser opponents left on the schedule.

I've watched quite a bit of the ACC this year, but my only exposure to the PAC-10 was last night's UCLA-Cal game. If it was a good indication, the ACC isn't even close.

Most of the ACC's teams are young (or the better programs are), and except for the Tar Heels, they look it. Lots of bad decisions, sloppy play and general not playing at the college level. Surprisingly (since, they too are young), the 'Heels look pretty solid. I'm not sure we're as good as UCLA, though.

Energetic Brockman does it all as Huskies crush OSU

Quote:
He dove on the floor. He ran up a tunnel. He nearly ran over a cheerleader. He helped run Oregon State right out of the arena, leading his Huskies to a 91-74 victory over the team that couldn't shoot straight.

Brockman scored a team-best 25 points for the UW (13-7 overall, 3-6 Pac-10), tying his career high set in the season opener against Pepperdine, dropping or slamming in 9 of 12 shots and hitting 7 of 8 free throws
The Dawgs started their PAC-10 play heavy on the road...they are now mainly at home. BUT they still need each and every win they can get and at least one of AT Arizona or AT Pitt. Although a 9-9 PAC-10 record with non-conference record of 11-1 with wins over LSU and Pitt would probably get them in the tourney.
