Thats a fact #1.....We're definitely top heavy with DH-Platoon type players that are known more for their hitting than EVERYTHING ELSE....
Defensive skills will not get you a spot on this team...well, except for Rouse... Bad Defense , for me, cannot be over looked.....but that's me.

The Indians should seriously consider moving Peralta to third base. The more I watch him, the less I like him. I just don't think he has the range of a shortstop. He misses too many balls that would be in reach of most other shortstops in the league.
Also, I'm tired of the inconsistant lineup. I wish Wedge would set a lineup and stick with it. If the players get a chance to settle into their spots in the order, the bats might start to come alive. Lastly, I think at this point it is inexcusable to platoon anyone with Franklin Gutierrez in right field. He has earned the starting spot outright in my opinion. |

unreal, your last post surprised me....I couldn't agree more with it.....
We're going to get along fine here, me thinks.... And I know from experience, #1Perry will rarely, if ever, give you bad advice.... I can't help but think, Franklin is getting the BP attitude, the 'play me or trade me' one.....

BP has shown that he can play.
Seems that right now Barfield is in the doghouse and I doubt the Indians want to make many more infield moves right now. Not that it is a bad idea. One has to hope the kid wonder can learn to hit. |

Asdrupal is impressing me alot. He seems really comfortable being moved up here. If I'm Josh Barfield, I'd be worried. I don't think Asd's is going to give up the 2nd base spot.
And then there's Jhonny.....seeing as how Asd's is a SS, and in my early observations, I'd bet Asd's can 'easily' outplay Jhonny at SS...maybe a move for Jhonny to 3rd might be in the future.... Did I say how many times I thought Jhonny wasn't a SS? I know I said with Jhonny's poor range to his left, a decent SS would be able to help Jhonny cover that gap between 3rd and SS......a decent SS like Asd's maybe?

I'd love to see jhonny move to third, but there are a couple issues to keep in mind.
1. if peralta moves to third and cabrera moves to short, we are left without a utility middle infielder. 2. casey blake's future with the team will need to be re-evaluated. With kenny lofton in left, guttierez in right, ryan garko at first, and trot nixon making way too much money, he won't have a spot in the lineup. |

we all know they simply haven't addressed the infield defense accurately....I'm not sure what a Mike Rouse added to it or what they were thinking.....
Of course, I wasn't sure what they were thinking letting a JMac go (for pennies) without a decent backup for Jhonny...... I like Peraltas arm at 3rd....if he can charge a bunt I really see no problems with him there..... I love great defenses. I think they provide inspiration to the players and to the fans.....This defense isn't an inspiration, more of a surprise when they do make a nice play....
