Default How bout that Cliff Lee?

He's really gaining a fan base eh?

He's pitching horribly, and displaying a spoiled brat attitude to go with it.

Nice tip of the cap to you Cliff too.

Are the Tribe (not the fans) going to give up on him?

Makes it rough to win a division when one of the parts you counted on isn't performing (and Lee certainly isn't) but the same question could have been asked about Carmona last year.

Cliff has a spotty MLB record generally. People thinking he'll be a #2 starter after his one decent year are really fooling themselves. He'll end up being a #4-#5 starter because of his talent.

He DOES have 46 wins over his last 3 seasons. I understand your point though, his ERA has jumped around over the years. I was hoping we could expect some more consistancy out of Lee this year, but he just doesn't have the same command he did in 2005.

And then you throw in some bad outtings by Jake, and it looks uglier than it is....

I don't know if the Tribe have thrown up their hands yet, I doubt it, but his last performance was ugly.....And I don't think him tipping his hat to booing fans when he was pulled set a class example either....

I have to admit, I was not really a fan of Lee's.....

And with Miller in the Minors, injured AGAIN, I'm not sure we'll see much help there for awhile...

Dare I mention... Jeremy Sowers? He's looked good his last two starts. It's hard to imagine he can help after the way he looked at the beginning of the year, but you never know. Help can come from unexpected places...

And guess who got a Triple A demotion today?

I drove by the ballpark In Buffalo yesterday. It's a really beautiful park. Somehow I doubt Lee sees it that way. LOL

From The Official Site of The Cleveland Indians: Homepage

"The Indians' top starting option at Buffalo is left-hander Aaron Laffey (7-3, 3.22 ERA), and he is expected to replace Lee in the rotation next week. Because of Monday's off-day, the club can reshuffle its rotation and avoid having to fill Lee's spot until Aug. 4."

There are reports that Cliff Lee will be starting for the Indians once the 5th spot in the rotation comes around again.

Aaron Laffey is back in action tonight against the Royals. His performance will strongly influence when or if Cliff Lee returns to the rotation.

I don't think anyone can complain about his outing tonight. The bats finally wake up at that. Have to wonder what C.C. thinks. Laffey gives up two and likely wins. C.C. gives up two and loses.

It appears that the Indians are sticking with Laffey as the 5th starter... they have announced that Cliff Lee will be used as a long reliever/spot starter down the stretch.
