Check Left Field off the to do list. I think Dellucci will be a solid option for left field. He hit 29 homers in 2005. Thoughts? |

This was a nice pickup. Not great, just nice. Good platoon mate for Micheals. Choo will go to RF against righties. Either Blake or Garko are now trade bait, more likely Garko, with a Blake (RF), Victor (1B), ShopVac (C)going against lefties. Hopefully to upgrade the pitching, either starting or relieving.
But, well, to a recent post -- sigh... Hoped so much we'd avoid this nonsense on this board. Blasting it or overpraising it is just silly. If you want to do that, there's a nice long thread on the other board full of such nonsense. One can go over there if to post all the overstatements and hyperbole you'd like. Maybe leave this one alone so rational analysis could happen? Yeah, I know. It's the internet. Not of the likely. BTW, I can't find any other blasting of the signing on the net by any serious analyst. They liked it at Baseball Prospectus, Baseball Think Factory, and Let's Go Tribe. Does anyone have any links that do? I mean a serious one, not Scout.com or Cleveland Live. :-) |

is a good pick....I'm not sold on the platoon. These guys want to play everyday, platooning isn't very inspirational to them.....

Not sure how platooning isnt inspirational - and honestly i'd rather see a complete roster used with the best players being used in the right circumstances every day then waiting for inspiration to strike....
Dellucci will be fine as part of a platoon with Michaels (or Gutierrez or even Luna) until Crowe shows he is ready to hit the show. |

Dellucci = Joke
We all know that Cleveland was forced to implement Plan D. Cleveland should have implemented the other options: 1: Manny: We tried to bring Manny home but the Sox wanted Adam Miller, Trevor Crowe, Fausto Carmona. Hall of Fame players do not come cheap! That is a huge price tage, but Carmona looks like a #4 type starter - Crowe plays CF and we have Sizemore - Adam Miller is a stud #1 type prospect - but he has potential elbow problems. MAKE THE TRADE! 2: Sheffield: We could have opted to send some prospects to the Yankees and brought in Sheffield. He is old, but he is a legit power RH stick. 3: Alou: We offered him a solid contract. But, the Mets offered a "similar" deal and Shapiro would not counter with "over" paying him to force a deal with the Tribe. Problem: Our team needs a RH Power Stick - not a veteran part time player that hits LH. I have no problem with Dellucci - but the lack of a true power RH stick still exists. The wild card is Ryan Garko, but Shapiro wants to play his adopted son at 1B. |

Trevor Crowe: Perhaps Cleveland Fans need to look at Mark Shapiro and his track record... We already have a CFer in Grady Sizemore...
Coco Crisp: We did not like him as a CF option turned LF starter. He was sent to another team. Kenny Lofton: We could not sign him to platoon in LF because Cleveland says he is a CFer and not a LF option. What makes you believe Crowe will switch positions and play LF as a speed guy, when that is a power stick position? |
