The best part about having young ballplayers is watching them get better. I realize the Indians do not need to go out and sign big name offensive players, because they have young players who will get better (and when they get better, it will be sort of like they signed a big offensive player). Hafner, though, not young, probably will be better in 2008 than in 2007. If Hafner returns to his career numbers, then it would definitely be like the Indians signed a new offensive star.
I can't wait to see the Indians pitching this year. CC will hopefully continue from where he left off last season (not post season, please not post season). Carmona will hopefully not stumble and will keep playing ahead of the competition (lets hope nobody figures him out, and that his stuff is filthy as ever). Westbrook just needs to be solid, innings-eating Westbrook with a pretty good ERA (4.20 or less) to keep me happy. The pen will always scare me thanks to relievers loving to go from being good one year to imploding the next (I mean relievers in general). Just kind of rambling to try to get back into baseball. Looking forward to some good conversation around here. |
