It is my honest opinion that the Indians will take this series in 6 games... maybe less. From what I'm seeing in the media, the Indians are underdogs in this series, and I fail to see why. After the Indians pitching silenced the bats of Jeter, A-Rod, and company, I'm confident the rotation and bullpen can keep Manny, Ortiz, and Lowell from doing too much damage.
I don't mean to be a homer, but I really like our chances this year. There is a "team" mentality where no one player is more important than the other. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like this team has really matured in 2007. Win or lose, I still think the Cleveland Indians are the best team, top to bottom, in baseball. |

I simply can not tell who will win....with 2 teams like these I just hope to see great baseball, and the winner decided at the last out....
I am certain we will play good baseball and am fairly certain Boston will also..... Let us hope we're the last man standing when the dust clears eh!

Funny thing... on another Indians board, when I was asked, I chose the Tribe in 6, too. Just have a feeling that we'll see the best of C.C. and Fausto, and Paul Byrd will give us a quality start, too.
Just as long as we can avoid those multiple 1-run games which require an over reliance on Joe B. 'Cuz then I just don't know I'd have the same confidence. But we quieted the Yankee bats; why not the Bosox?

What in the world is wrong with C.C.? All of the sudden, he looks lost on the mound, like he has no idea what to do out there. And I knew we were in for a long night when Manny, of all freaking people, made a great running catch on Kenny's drive in the 2nd.

Things that I liked:
-Travis Hafner hit a home run -Casey Blake drilled two doubles -Asdrubal knocked in 2 RBI's -Kenny Lofton continued his hot streak going 2 for 4. -Tom Mastny and Joe Borowski combined for 3 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk. Things that I didn't like: -Sizemore went 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts (he HAS to stop striking out so much) -Franklin went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts -Vic went 0 for 4 with 1 strikeout -The team had too many players not hitting the ball to get any rally going -Sizemore and Franklin left a combined 8 men on base -The Indian hitters seemed impatient, and fell away from the strategy of working the count that worked so well against the Yankees. (yes, i know, easier said than done against Beckett) -C.C. gave up 8 runs over 4 and a third. More alarming were his 5 walks. Why can he not find the stike zone all of a sudden? This is the second game in a row where C.C. had trouble locating his fastball. Fear not, Indians fans! This is only Game 1, and there is still plenty of baseball left to play. Fausto will be out there for us in Game 2 as we try to get the best of Curt Schilling. go tribe! |

Good stuff unreal...!
I can't help but think, when I'm watching Asdrubal is he is going to hit something.....it maybe a cheapie, a groundout, flyout, or a nice hit.....but the keyword is contact.... I was upset with the way Franky let that fly ball play him....that was ugly... I'm happy to see Blake knocking down more balls at 3rd also....that is critical for a 3rd baseman.....he has to guard that line! If he knocks a ball down and can't make the play, THAT IS OK!!!!!! WE LIKE THAT!!! Especially if it was a blast off someones bat.... He just saved a double.....and it keeps the DP in place... I'm ready for some more baseball!

Carmona has struggled keeping the ball over the plate, but credit the Red Sox lineup for being patient and seeing the ball well tonight.
Fausto looks like he's settled down for the time being, 5-3 Indians in the top of the 5th. |
