I don't really care, in my heart of hearts, who wins this contest. But I'm happy to see good baseball.
And these announcers here in the ALCS -- who are they? Fox? -- seems so bent on the Red Sox winning, I can already feel myself rooting for the Indians. Anyway, I've lost the feed. We've (NHK) cut away to game two of the Pacific League stage one playoff -- Marines v. Nippon-Ham. Last edited by Jim Potable; 10-14-2007 at 01:05 AM. |

You certainly have to be pleased with splitting in Boston. Especially with such lousy outings by both C.C. and Carmona. Both are going to have to decide they are going to pitch for the Indians to win.
Now get 2 of 3 at home. Byrd may not have C.C.'s or Carmona's stuff but I bet he'll show them both how to pitch. |

Game balls to Jensen Lewis, Rafael Betancourt and Tom Mastny (!), of all people, for their brilliant performance in relief. And to Trot for getting the key hit to spark the 7-run rally.
Going home with a split, with no good performances from C.C. nor Fausto. I gotta like our chances at home, especially when those two come back. ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW, you gotta add Rafael Perez to your "now I have to worry about him, too" list.

Jim, I agree....I have always said, if we're playing good baseball, I don't what the score is.....the wins will come....
There for awhile (back a coupla years), we were winning, but playing some really ugly baseball....the base running errors, three fielders converging on a popup, and three fielders watching it hit the ground , kind of stuff.... We're starting to gel.....and I'm glad the last part of the season saw fewer platoonings than did the start of the season did... good baseball=inspiring baseball

I know the Red Sox keep talking about how it is only one game, but I can't begin to describe how big this was for the Indians to win an extra inning affair at Fenway. These are the games that championship teams learn to win, something that the Red Sox usually would win. But not this year! The series is tied coming home, and the Red Sox lost their momentum.

Well, here comes the crucial game #3. Jake Westbrook vs. Dice-K. And while Tribe fans may be lamenting the choice of Westbrook over Byrd for Game #3, Bosox fans can't feel too comfortable... Dice-K's performances have been a "crap shoot", especially since the All-Star game. 7.62 ERA in September? Could be another "shoot out"... just hope our pen is ready to perform once again.
BTW: anyone else concerned about Raffy P.? What in the world has happened to him?!
