After a lead-off double and good piece of hitting by Blake to get the runner to 3rd, our 1-2 guys can't deliver. Great pitch by Pettitte on the outside corner. Thought it was more outside than the previous pitch, but when I slowed it down on replay, it clearly catches the outer edge of the plate.
But it's only 1-0 down.

After a lead-off single, a good bit of baserunning by Hafner. I think he startled Cano, who had to go to first, and he gets 2nd. Could be a big play.
Add note: Of course, it doesn't end up being a big play, because Pettitte gets Garko to ground out, then freezes Peralta.

Geez, the one thing I feared the most from Pettitte: one of our guys getting picked off! And at a crucial moment in the game.
But it's still only 1-0. And it's not like they have a clue about how to touch Carmona. Except for the poor pitch to Cabrera.

Game 3: Sun. Oct. 7 Yankee Stadium TBS - 6:30 p.m.
Pitching Matchup: Jake Westbrook vs. Roger Clemens I don't think the Yankees have as much of an advantage in the pitching matchup as they might think. Clemens has been shaky this year, and Westbrook put together a couple good looking starts down the stretch. Should be another good game. |
