Default Cavalier delight

Quote:
The stage was set for another Cavaliers collapse once coach Mike Brown announced LeBron James would miss Tuesday’s game due to a sprained right big toe.

That meant seldom-used Sasha Pavlovic would start for James while rookie point guard Daniel “Boobie” Gibson would be making his first-ever start.

But Gibson turned up the tempo and Pavlovic finished with a career night as the Cavs blew past the Golden State Warriors, 124-97, at The Q.

Default Cavs deliver without LeBron

Quote:
CLEVELAND - There hasn't been a great deal of laughter emanating from the home bench at Quicken Loans Arena recently. Tuesday night served as a catch-up.

Down their All-Star and fielding a never-before-used lineup didn't prevent the Cavaliers from giving the Golden State Warriors a therapeutic whipping. Enjoying all the benefits of playing a defenseless Western Conference foe, the Cavs seemed oblivious that LeBron James was not in uniform as they scored a 124-97 win.

Default Same problems persist on road

Quote:
CLEVELAND - Stephen Jackson was so out of it.

The Warriors swingman -- battling a cold, legal distractions and the complexities of playing for Warriors coach Don Nelson -- boasted the pep of a tortoise on its way home from a buffet. Jackson couldn't buy a shot, was inviting on defense and was hardly a factor in the Warriors' 124-97 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.

Default Davis says 'We're fooling ourselves'

Warriors pounded on the road, again

Quote:
(01-31) 04:00 PST Cleveland -- Even with Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson as his new sidekicks, this is still Baron Davis' team. And the Warriors' franchise player blasted his squad after it was throttled on the road again, this time a 124-97 dousing by the LeBron-less Cavaliers.

"We've got the worst road record of any team in the NBA, so who are we fooling, man? Who are we fooling?" Davis said of the Warriors' postseason hopes. "How are we going to be a playoff team (when) we can't win on the road?

Default Pavlovic Starts for LeBron, Leads Cavs in Rout of Warriors

Quote:
CLEVELAND, Jan. 30 (AP) -- LeBron James rested his smarting toe, and Sasha Pavlovic made sure the Cleveland Cavaliers didn't stub theirs.

Pavlovic scored a career-high 24 points filling in for his injured teammate and the Cavaliers rolled without their superstar, pounding the Golden State Warriors 124-97 on Tuesday night.
