Awards event hopes to land LeBron

Organizers of the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards very much hope Cavaliers star LeBron James snaps his three-year absentee streak and attends their annual event on Jan. 29 at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.

If it does not happen, GCSA still figures to have a strong roster in place. Among those scheduled to attend is Glenville football coach Ted Ginn Sr. He will receive a special tribute largely for his work with the Ted Ginn Sr. Foundation.

Mariano Gannon, a football player for Rocky River High School, is set to receive a courage award for his strength of character and will beyond the playing field.
