Default Jamal Lewis signs

ESPN.com - NFL - Browns agree with former Ravens tailback Jamal Lewis

Quote:
Lewis, the franchise's all-time leading rusher, broke away from the Ravens and agreed to a deal with the rival Cleveland Browns on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed, but Lewis reached the agreement Wednesday night after a visit to Cleveland.

The Ravens released Lewis to clear salary cap room. Both sides kept in touch with the hopes of reuniting. But Lewis sensed his job might not be there. The Ravens have been interested in acquiring Bills halfback Willis McGahee in a trade.
Big signing for the Browns. Now if they can only place an offensive line in front of him.

Agreed, definetly a positove move for the Browns.... Maybe the Browns will draft Joe Thomas if the Lions pass up on him, he's suppose to be a really good OL.

Cleveland desperately needed a running back and I'm expecting a 1,100-1,400 yard season out of Jamal....

I'm shocked at it. But I am not overly disappointed that the Ravens did not re-sign him. He's not the runner he was. I don't think of him as any better than Reuben D, so I am a bit puzzled by the Browns with this, but it does allow you guys to concentrate elsewhere in the draft.

I agree DD i'm not sure that Lewis is better than Droughns at this point. Granted Lewis is still young so maybe he can rebound to his former self. But if this means the Browns will be passing on AP I find this very disappointing.

I have no interest in watching another rookie qb have to develop and think that Joe Thomas is the most overrated OT since Robert Gallery. Except that this gives them a chance to trade down I don't like it much.

I doubt you guys would go Calvin Johnson... you guys have other needs than WR... I doubt you go Quinn.... Jamaal Anderson or Gaines Adams could fit, but I think 3 is a bit early for either of them.... trading down is a possibility, but who would trade up to 3 for Johnson or Peterson? Possibly Atlanta or Miami, but would you guys really want to move down to 9 or 10, even if you could secure an extra 3rd rounder or moving up from the 3rd to the second, or something like that?? If that were the case you could possibly end up with the best DB in the draft in one of those positions, which would not be a bad thing....

It is intriguing

I gotta hope that Savage can pull a Ray Lewis, Ed Reed pick out of this draft if he trades down. I think they do a generally good job on higher picks, but if they are starting to fall into the win now mode the Brownies are in trouble.

Most of the mock drafts for the Cleveland Browns have them still taking Adrian Peterson after the Jamal Lewis signing I see....

Lewis has only a one year contract and they don't know if he is going to return to top form..... Also the experts say AP is to good to pass up, we will have to see what happens

I don't think most have been updated.... I just don't know if the Browns would do that... because there is always a good RB coming out of the draft.... why do it if you are paying another and your young guy is not going to earn the paycheck by pulling the load
