Default Official Browns @ Steelers thread

Thursday Night under the lights at Heinz Field...

vs

Things have really changed since the two teams last met. The Browns have continued their up and down slide but the Steelers have now won three of their last four. The Browns still have not won back to back games since the Iron Age.

When the Browns have the ball...

31 points...did the Browns really score 31 points? The Browns had not scored that many points since the infamous 58-48 loss to Cincinnati back in Week 12 of 2004 (two full years).

Charlie's wrist x-rays were negative but he is questionable for Thursday. It is a very short week so I expect DA to get the start and for Reuben Droughns to share carries again with Jason Wright. I was impressed with the play calling as it was more creative against KC than it has been all season mixing in flea flickers and direct snaps to Josh Cribbs. Bill Cowher likes trick plays and I expect JD to try and throw some tricky plays right back at him.

KWII was almost MIA this past week while Steve Heiden was a stud TE and Braylon was over-shadowed by JJ. I hope Frye or DA finds a way to spread the ball around more.

When the Steelers have the ball...

Browns Defense is doing OK and having Bodden healthy for a second week in a row is a bonus. This might be the healthiest this Defense has been all season.

No doubt the Browns can win this game but as always they find a way to lose against The Chin

Steelers will be playing without their two starting Safetys and two of their top three WRs as Polamalu, Ryan Clark, Hines Ward, and Cedric Wilson are all OUT. This should help DA or Frye and should be a boost to Bodden and Holly on the corners!

As for Charlie, x-rays and MRIs were negative and they are calling the wrist injury a bruise and leave open the possibility he might play. I think the Browns will get conservative and sit him an extra week and give DA another look with his first start!

I really think the outcome of this game will be different than 3 weeks ago.
I thought that was gonna be close and that the Browns would have
a real shot at winning, and it turns out that it was close.

Forget about and throw out the Cincy game.. it was just one of those
days.. the same as the Steelers had against the Ravens the same day.
Just throw the game out.

The Browns had to pick up some tremendous confidence with the win
against the Chiefs on Sunday, and I believe the Browns will come with
their heads high and looking for some blood.

The Steelers are certainly not playing the best football right now, and the
Browns are showing definite improvement. Roethielisberger is just too erractic, and lets face it, they beat a not very good Bucs team

This game will be real close, and I think the Browns will win this game.
It all just adds up to Browns victory this week.
