I mean Derek Anderson is having a Pro Bowl season, and he is still young. Quinn could be good, but he will probably rot away on the bench similar to Aaron Rodgers of the Packers.
So what do you do with Quinn if you were the Browns? I would hold on to him another season and see how Anderson is. If Anderson further proves himself then you have to trade Quinn...

DA has emerged as one of the better quarterbacks in the league today. The Browns will almost certainly bring him back for the 2008 season. However, I doubt Quinn will be moved. The Browns really have three options: 1. "franchise tag" Anderson, forcing any team that signs him in the offseason to give up a 1st and 3rd round draft pick, 2. sign and trade, or 3. re-sign and start Anderson ahead of Quinn
I think the situation will be much clearer once the season has ended. |

To me it all depends on if the Browns make the playoffs this season...sort of like what you said waiting until the season's end.
The Browns have a pretty solid offense, but will need to focus on next year's draft and free agency to combat their lackluster defensive performances this season.

I agree with you. If DA leads the Browns to the playoffs this year, then I don't see Brady Quinn taking over next season.
The Browns are already out a 1st round pick in 2008 because of Quinn (not to mention 2 million a year for essentially a bench player), so they will probably at least consider making a deal for a 1st round pick. Help is needed on defense... although they showed some improvement against the Texans. Brandon McDonald might be just what the secondary is looking for after seeing him shut down Andre Johnson last Sunday. One thing is for sure, it will be an interesting offseason for the Browns... in a good way. |

I think Anderson will keep the #1 for a few years at least. I see Quin taking over in tow or three years.
