With the coming of the winter meetings next week.. What in your opinion
should the Reds be looking for? Is there a chance that some players may be moved in order to acquire some more pitching, or should the Reds just work hard on FA's and to improve this team? I acutally think it will be a little bit of both, but I look for more minor leaguers to be used in trades, than those up the big club. At least 1 starter I think is still a priority, along with an IF with some pop, especially since Aurilla is now gone. I would love for the starter to be LH, but will take anyone that can get 14-16 wins. Is there even anyone out there, still on the table... besides Zito and perhaps Mulder who fit that description. Zito will definitely cost too much..however Mulder might fill the bill, and be exactly what the Reds are looking for. Another name who if the $$ is not too high, is Andy Pettite. He has had great success pitching in GABP.. I have seen him twice beat the Reds with terriffic stuff. I never truly appreciated how good his offspeed stuff was until I saw him in person. A couple of other names that I have heard might be interested in the Reds... esp. Luis Gonzalez, he would fit the bill as an OF with power, plus a LH bat. Ray Durham might be the one to perhaps take Aurilla's place inthe IF as one could play 1b, 2b, or 3b. He still has some pop in his bat as well I know that some of these might be unreachable... but with the right mix a little hope and some magic by GM Krivsky who knows... even one of these players would be a great addition to the Reds and hopefully help get us back to the playoffs.
