This is going to be a good, hard fought series between two decent ball clubs.

The wildcard game in this series is the second one. Will Danks come out and pitch good, that is the question?

I believe we will win the first, but lose the last. Sabathia has been on fire this season. Contreas rebounded after a horrible first outing, and looked halfway decent the last game he pitched in.

Oh oh! Jenks is on the mound and he is not doing to good.

2 guys on base and nobody out, hopefully he works out of the jam. We don't want him to blow his second game in the past three.....

Uribe's big night lifts Sox over Tribe

Shortstop sparks offense with home run, sac fly

Vazquez improves to 2-0

Quote:
CLEVELAND -- Javier Vazquez probably wouldn't point to Friday's 6-4 victory over Cleveland at Jacobs Field as a model for efficiency in regard to his starting performance. But when the White Sox right-hander needed a big out against Cleveland, he never buckled.

Vazquez employed 112 pitches to survive 5 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits and issuing three walks. But he minimized the damage, especially against Cleveland's top hitters, striking out Grady Sizemore with two runners on base and two outs in the second and fanning Travis Hafner on a 3-2 changeup with the bases loaded and two outs in the fourth.

The Indians, in fact, stranded three runners at third base with less than two outs. They left 13 runners on base during the White Sox second straight win, moving them above .500 at 5-4.

Wow, nice win tonight. I swear I get a heart attack every time Jenks comes in to close out a game! However, he got it done tonight.

Vazquez didn't pitch the best, but I am just a huge fan of him. He got us the win, and that is all that counts.

Long balls hurt Danks at Jacobs Field

Rookie allows a pair of solo homers in the second

Dye made a great catch in the loss

Quote:
CLEVELAND -- Over the course of John Danks' two Major League starts, covering 11 1/3 innings in total, the left-hander has allowed a grand total of five runs on 10 hits.

Not exactly statistics indicating sheer domination, but Danks certainly has pitched well enough to keep the White Sox in contention on both occasions. Unfortunately for the rookie fifth starter, the high-powered White Sox offense has not responded in kind when he's on the mound.

Paul Byrd and four relievers combined to shut down the White Sox by a 4-0 margin on Saturday afternoon at Jacobs Field, marking the team's first shutout of 2007. The South Siders watched their two-game win streak come to a close after knocking out six singles and two doubles, while also finishing 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Danks didn't pitch too bad, but he clearly didn't have his best stuff. I think he will ammount to a fairly decent pitcher someday.
The offense didn't pull through at all, Darin Erstad has been ice cold since starting the season off flaming hot. A.J. is also having a rough start batting wise....

Errors doom Sox

Indians held to only one hit, but find a way to win.

Dye gets lone RBI

Quote:
CLEVELAND -- Sitting in his warm visiting manager's office prior to Sunday's series finale in Cleveland, Ozzie Guillen broke down the White Sox chances for victory on this particular day with a wry smile.

"We have to deal with this weather and facing C.C.? Good luck," Guillen said. "I think it's colder right now than it was in Chicago when we played them."

Sunday's game-time temperature was 39 degrees, with a wind chill of 28. That's not good for anyone playing the game. But C.C. Sabathia was on the mound for the Indians, making it doubly troubling for the White Sox, as Guillen explained.

Wow, who would think we would only allow 1 hit and still lose? Well, not many. Errors absolutely costed us this one, and C.C. Sabathia is just overpowering. Sabathia is now 3-0, and it's a shame we lost this one....
