It could go the other way just as easy, Ozzie has been motivating the pitchers to pitch better, so yeah its going to be interesting....

OAKLAND -- With all due respect to Chad Gaudin, Oakland's scheduled starting pitcher for Tuesday's second game of this three-game set, the White Sox hitters are eagerly anticipating taking their cuts against this spot-starter.

That anticipation has more to do with the accomplished hurlers the South Siders have battled in their past two games, in the form of Minnesota's Johan Santana on Sunday at home and Oakland's Rich Harden during Monday's road opener at McAfee Coliseum, as opposed to anything Gaudin can or can't do.

"Santana yesterday and Harden today," said White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski with a slightly exhausted smile, after his team produced just enough offense behind Jose Contreras to topple Oakland, 4-1, before a sold-out, home-opening crowd of 35,077 in Oakland.

Yeah, that was a great win again the A's yesterday. Jose Contreas looked very good and hopefully he keeps it up.....

Plus we beat the A's in front of their sold out crowd and sent them all home mad, an even bigger bonus!

How many wins do you think Contreas will get this season?

White Sox squander lead

Bobby Jenks walks off the field after giving up the game-winning single in the ninth inning.

Series tied 1-1

OAKLAND -- Suffering a 2-1 loss via Oakland's two-run, ninth-inning comeback Tuesday night would have been easy for the White Sox simply to blame on the road venue. After all, the South Siders now have a 5-24 record at McAfee Coliseum since 2001.

But instead, it was Bobby Jenks who stepped up following the last at-bat heroics from the A's and put the weight of this setback squarely on his broad shoulders. Jenks had been called upon to protect a 1-0 lead, but four ninth-inning hits later, and the series was even at one game apiece.

"Tonight's all on me," said Jenks, who slipped to 1-1 and blew his first save in two chances.

Tough game yesterday, I thought we had it won, but Jenks came in and blw it. I like Jenks, I guess everyone has an off night.

Right now today's game hasn't been quite the way we wanted. Kenendy of the A's is pitching pretty good. Hopefully we score some runs....

Dye comes through big for Buehrle, Sox

Right fielder hits two-run shot in series-clinching win over A's

White Sox take 2 out of 3 from A's

OAKLAND -- Jermaine Dye often likes to joke with Mark Buehrle that he "owns him" and always bails him out of a loss.

On Wednesday, Dye wasn't kidding as he came through big for Buehrle with a game-tying homer in the eighth inning that helped the White Sox beat the A's, 6-3, at McAfee Colsieum.

"I always tell him that I own him and stuff like that," Dye said of Buehrle, who got a no-decision after holding the A's to three runs over seven innings. "When he pitches, you like to do good for a guy like that. It just seems to work out that time and time again I do something good when he's pitching."

Yeah, it was a great series taking 2 out of 3 from the A's. I think they are a great team and have a chance to make the playoffs as the wild card. I think the Angels are too good to ignore in the AL West....
