Default Ramirez out with sore wrist

Third baseman to miss several games due to swelling

Aramis Ramirez has been getting treatment on his wrist since he first injured it in March.

Quote:
CHICAGO -- Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez was examined by a hand specialist on Friday because his right wrist was swollen from an injury he suffered in Spring Training.

"Let's hope it's not serious," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said.

The wrist hadn't been bothering Ramirez too much. He was hitting .406 in eight games with a hit in every game this year.

"I think he jammed it a little bit in Spring Training, and obviously, he's been swinging the bat great and playing through it," Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said. "I think he woke up this morning and had some swelling."

Very tough break for us, considering our offense has been struggling greatly. Along with Lee, Aramis has been one of the only bright spots batting-wise this season. Hopefully his wrists heals up and he is healthy again for us.

Cubs 3B Ramirez hopes to return in a couple of days:

Quote:
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez missed his second straight game Saturday with tendinitis in his right wrist.

Ramirez was to receive treatment Saturday and is on anti-inflammatory medication. He hopes to return in a couple of days.

Ramirez hurt his wrist in spring training and said it has been sore for six weeks. He had been able to play through it until Friday, when it was swollen and sore. Tests revealed no major damage and he was told he had tendinitis.
Well, this is good news I guess considering all the injuries we have had in the past week. Aramis will definetly help out the team once he comes back, I just wish Soriano would get hot too!
