I predict we will win 2 out of 3 of the matchups.
My guess we lose the second one.

What about all you other Cubs fans?

Not a Cubs fan but I do like Ted Lilly. I think you will sweep the series but if you do end up losing one game I'm thinking its game 3. Good luck in your start to the season!

Thanks for the good wishes!

I like the signing of Ted Lilly too, our staff is actually pretty solid. Solid enough to send Prior to the minors lol! I am expecting about a 15 win season out of Lilly with about a 3.75 ERA.

Bronson Arroyo is usually hot at the start of the season, so hopefully he does bad, for the Cubs sake on Wednesday!

Oh ya I forgot about Arroyo being hot at the beginning of the year. I remember in his first 2 starts he not only won them, but hit 2 homers! I have a quick question for you, are most games aired on WGN? Surprisingly I get that channel here in Canada with my sattelite!

The opening day game is aired on WGN, but not the last two games in the Reds Series.
Not all Cubs games are on WGN, just by looking on average for April only about 2-3 Cubs games a week are on WGN, which kind of bites

I usually watch all the WGN games, they used to have a lot more on than now. Hopefully you do catch some Cubs action this season!

Milton was put on the DL, so the new pitcher for the Reds is going to be Kyle Loshe.

I expect this to be a good game with the Cubs winning 2 of the 3 games.

Cubs fall on Opening Day 5-1:

Carlos Zambrano is winless in three Opening Day starts.

Starter lasts five innings, allows five runs, six hits, five walks

Quote:
CINCINNATI -- Maybe someone else should start Opening Day for the Cubs. Carlos Zambrano has had enough.
Zambrano served up two home runs to Adam Dunn, who powered the Cincinnati Reds to a 5-1 victory over the Cubs in front of a sun-splashed sellout crowd of 42,720 at Great American Ball Park on Monday. The Cubs right-hander is now winless in three Opening Day starts.

"I think I will talk to Lou [Piniella] next year and tell him I want to be the second-game starter and not Opening Day," Zambrano said.

I am very diappointed with how the team played.....Obviously Zambrano didn't pitch the best, but our batting really stunk.

Hopefully we rebound today with Ted Lilly making his Cubs debut. And in addition it would be nice to see the offense score some runs!

I would, but my buddies couldn't make the trip. Usually we go to Milwaukee once a year, along with many other stadiums. Its always a fun time on the road trip.
There will be more Cubs fans in Miller Park than Brewers fans! The game is like a home game most of the time. My prediction for the Brewers is pain!

I must say Ted Lilly has been looking pretty sharp tonight. 8 strikeouts in 5 innings, with an ERA of zero. I liked his signing and hopefully he will continue pitching great this game! Our batting is still looking kind of lazy, but we do have 5 hits thus far.....

Lilly excels in win

Lilly stikes out nine

Mark DeRosa gave the Cubs a cushion with a two-run single in the seventh..

Quote:
CINCINNATI -- Ted Lilly made a good first impression on the Cubs.
In his first start, Lilly struck out nine and gave up three hits over seven innings to help the Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 Wednesday night and give new manager Lou Piniella his first win with the team.

"It's a lot of time in between wins, I can tell you that," said Piniella, back in the dugout after taking one year off. "I really enjoy winning. It feels good, it really does. We played a good ballgame, and we pitched very well. That's the key."

Cubs fall short in finale

Bullpen blows the game

Marquis goes 6 innings, gives up one run

Quote:
CINCINNATI -- The Cubs missed opportunities Thursday and the Cincinnati Reds didn't.
Scott Hatteberg belted a two-run homer in the eighth, but the damage came in the seventh when pinch-hitter Jeff Conine hit a game-tying RBI single and then scored on a passed ball to help the Cincinnati Reds beat the Cubs, 5-2.

"We did have opportunities," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said. "We had 10 base hits. We certainly had a chance to score a lot more than two runs."
