If Prior could have stayed healthy he could be a top-five pitcher, he’s a tremendous talent. We all know what he can do when healthy (2.43 ERA, over 200 IP, 1.103 WHIP, 245 SO, 50 BB, 18 wins, 6 loses in 2003). The Cubs should have got rid of him in 2005 when they were able to get Miguel Tejada.

Cubs agreed to terms with RHP Mark Prior on a one-year, $3.575 million contract.
He's taking a small cut in pay, but he can earn an additional $150,000 each for 27 and 30 starts. Prior asked for a raise from $3.65 million to $3.875 million in his second year of arbitration. The Cubs offered him $3.4 million. Prior will contend for a rotation spot this spring after spending the winter attempting to strengthen his right shoulder. Source: Rotoworld |
