ESPN - Johnson agrees to one-year, $1.3M deal with Johnson - MLB

MESA, Ariz. -- The Chicago Cubs agreed on a $1.3 million, one-year contract with Reed Johnson on Tuesday, adding depth and a right-handed bat to their outfield.

ESPN's Peter Gammons reports that Johnson can earn another $1.2 million in incentives.

Good move. I knew he wouldn't be unemployed for long. The Cubs plan is to platoon him with Felix Pie with Pie getting the starts against righties. Johnson is much better against lefties, so it's a good fit.
