Default Bulls Seek Win Against Bobcats Before the All-Star Break

Quote:
The Chicago Bulls may be one of the stronger teams in the Eastern Conference
so far this season, but they've been slumping recently.

The Bulls look to go into the All-Star break on a positive note when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday.

Chicago (29-24) made the playoffs last season as the No. 7 seed in the East, but has been contending for the top spot in a weak conference for most of this season.

The Bulls have been sliding lately, though, and lost for the fifth time in eight games after a 112-111 defeat to Toronto on Tuesday.

Default Strong Second Helps Bobcats Surge Past Bulls

Quote:
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 14 (AP) -- Gerald Wallace and Charlotte were making no apologies for the sometimes unfair NBA schedule.

Wallace scored 32 points, Emeka Okafor added 15 points and 21 rebounds and the Bobcats pulled away from weary Chicago for a 100-85 win over the Bulls on Wednesday.

The Bobcats snapped a four-game losing streak by wearing down Chicago. While Charlotte had been off since Saturday, the Bulls were wrapping up a brutal string of games and travel. Following a seven-game West Coast road trip that concluded Sunday, Chicago returned home Tuesday and lost to Toronto. Then the snowstorm in Chicago delayed their arrival into Charlotte until 3 a.m. Wednesday.

While you SHOULDNT lose to the Bobcats by 15, they are playing some MUCH better basketball this year.

Though you are right, a pretty pathetic L

Yeah, I know the travel was a little rough--in Phoenix for Sunday night, back home to Chicago for Tuesday, at Charlotte on Wednesday--but the Bulls really needed to at least split the Raptors and Bobcats games.

Default Bulls start break early

Quote:
CHARLOTTE -- There are gut-check moments in any NBA season when teams either try to stop the madness or eventually succumb to it.

On Wednesday night, with their actions suggesting they already had left for the All-Star break, the Bulls chose the latter.

Looking disinterested and docile, the Bulls trailed the entire second half and by as many as 18 points in a dismal 100-85 loss to the Bobcats.

Default No way to go into break

Quote:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The NBA All-Star break officially began for the Bulls immediately after their 100-85 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats Wednesday night.

But judging by their lackluster performance throughout the game, it appeared the Bulls actually started the mini vacation a bit early.

''It was definitely an embarrassing effort and an embarrassing loss,'' Bulls coach Scott Skiles. ''Right from the beginning we knew we didn't have it. Just like [Tuesday] night, we were a step slow. We hung in there for a little while, but they just wore us down and we couldn't get anything going.''

Default Bobcats efficient at both ends of court

Quote:
Anything UConn do, I can do better?

It must have felt a bit like that for former Connecticut roommates Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon on Wednesday night. Either Bobcats forward Okafor was dunking or Chicago Bulls guard Gordon was driving.

Then Gerald Wallace broke up the act. With 21 of his 32 points after halftime, Wallace took over the Bobcats' final game before the All-Star break, for a 100-85 home victory.
