We've added a new forum here at FanHome for Cardinal fans. Be part of a historic effort among fans of the Cardinal Nation. The board is currently called Player Biographies. That will change on Opening Day, when a lucky poster at FanHome submits the new name in our "Name the Forum" Contest.
The board will be a sub-forum to the current Cardinal board. The plan is to list each player in the Cardinal organization via a player-named thread. ArRedbird and I will setup the individual threads. Currently, the 40 man roster has been inputed to the board. As the weekend progresses, I'll be adding the players in the minor league organization. You, the fan, will be asked to help contribute info on them - things like his annual stats, vitals - height, weight, throws/bats, year signed, date drafted - story links, contract figures by year, etc, etc. Gather the information on your favorite player and add it to the player's thread. ArRedbird or I will then update the main player thread (the initial post on the players thread). We hope to build the forum in such a way that you'll be able to drop by at any time and get information on your favorite player, prospect, etc. It will be a unique board in the Cardinal Nation. No one has attempted anything like it to my knowledge. If you have any questions on how to submit info or the type of info to submit, post your question onto this thread. Thanks for all the help that you are about to give us. BB593 ArRedbird

The question has come up on how to locate a player without scanning all the way thru the forum pages.
For the time being, click on the Search button. It's located on the bottom line above. Put in the player's name and make sure that you have clicked the "Show Threads" button. ArRedbird and I are working on putting together a alpha player index that when the name is clicked on, it will take you to that players thread. More to follow as we figure out how to do this properly

Another request to help make our jobs easier in doing the updating of player bios.
If you post a story link on a player - please include the article date, article title, author and site (ie St Louis Post Dispatch) For example: Kyle McClellan story 3-26-08: McClellan Makes Team by Derrick Goold / St Louis Post Dispatch. Normally, the link would be embedded in the above, but I have not done so here. There is an insert link button that you can use to post your story links. Its a 2 part process. If you right click and copy the link on the story page (site address), then in the FanHome Reply box, left click on the insert link button (looks like a globe above the box). When the box opens up a new window, left click on the space, then right click on the mouse and click on paste. It'll then give you another highlighted area. Either type in the story line or go back to your article, highlight the title, author, etc. Right click and click on copy. Then come back to the opened box and click on the highlighted blue space and then right click the mouse. Click on paste. You should then be set to go. If you have problems contact me and I'll help you thru it.

Earlier this year, the mod team at the Cardinals forum at FanHome.com undertook an ambitious project in creating a sub-forum titled Cardinals Bio Central. We hoped to build a unique forum in such a way that you, the Cardinal Fan, would be able to drop by at any time and get information on your favorite player, prospect, etc.
The Cardinal mod team, with the help of a few friends, were able to gather the basic information on all the players in the Cardinals system. We still have a ways to go to complete the project and need Cardinal fans to step up and help us gather more information. We’re still looking to add player story links, contract figures by year, draftees signing bonus’, fans “eye-ball” scouting reports, links to career stats and pictures taken of players by you, the fan. To help move the project along by the end of the season, BleacherBum593 is offering fans the following incentive – 2 of his season tickets in the 2nd row of the LF Bleachers to one of the following games against Arizona – Monday, Sept 22nd, Tuesday, Sept 23rd or Wednesday, Sept 24th. Winner’s choice. Starting at noon on Sept 2nd to midnight on Sept 15th, every time you post new information on a player in the Cardinal Bio Central forum, you’ll receive 1 entry in the drawing and for every picture taken of players by the poster and posted on the players thread, you’ll receive an additional bonus entry into the drawing. You must register at FanHome to post information in the Cardinal Bio Central Forum. The winner will be announced by noon on Sept 17th. The winner then will be notified and they will be given the opportunity to select a game date. If the winner is unable to attend any of the games offered, the tickets for the Wednesday Sept 24th game will be put up for auction on StubHub.com. The amount received for the tickets (less StubHub fees) will be forwarded on to the winner. If you have any questions, please send an email to bleacherbum593@hotmail.com
