Joe, seriously though, what's wrong with Phoenix?

Oklahoma City has sold out the season-tickets for the NBA's Thunder--their first season. I, along with 10,000 others would welcome the NHL.

Whats wrong with Phoenix?
Are you a NHL fan??? Do you know how many millions a season they loose. As of right now... this very moment (and its official, I'm not making this up) the Coyotes were better off staying in Winnipeg.
Now... Oklahoma.
lets look at Oklahoma hockey history, all the kids growing up playing hockey on the frozen lakes and watching their heroes Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Orr. Oh wait, no one it Oklahoma did. Lets look at teams in Oklahoma. The Blazers, a Central Hockey League franchise. The minor league of the minor leagues minor league (if you know what I mean by that, which you wont if you dont know about why Phoenix is bad, the AHL is the AAA league, the ECHL is the AA league and the IHL and the CHL are the A but well soon be considered AA because of new A leagues).

So... what I'm getting at is. There are cities like Winnipeg, Hamilton and Quebec City in Canada that deserve teams and have people to put in the seats. So why go to Oklahoma? It would just be another southern team struggling to stay alive.

And of course the Thunder sold all their season tickets. Its a new team. Kinda a big deal getting a Major Pro franchise in your city. And any ways NBA is bigger than the NHL down south. If you were talking about Hartford getting a NBA team and selling out I would agree with you but its not the case.

But... the Stars get great attendance and there even farther south so maybe they'd be okay. But... I doubt it.
