Default Minnesota Twins-The Minnesota Piranhas?

What's with everyone from Minnesota calling the Twins the Little Piranhas? I heard someone say it and I looked into it today....Some people actually want to change the team's name!

What do you all think of the Minnesota Piranhas?

I don't like it one bit, it wouldn't make much sense too....

And you know how much money it costs a team to change a name?.....

I guess here is how the whole thing kind of took off:

Quote:
Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen loves to speak his mind. Most of the time, his commentary is about ripping his own players, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti, and others in major league baseball. He does have a soft spot for one team, which is the Minnesota Twins. He was raving about them prior to the White Sox/Twins game at the Metrodome on August 19th. He talked about how he respects Twins manager Ron Gardenhire and how he thinks Justin Morneau is worthy of being the American League’s Most Valuable Player. He dedicated most of his commentary on the Twins role players as he called them “little piranhas." He was talking about how he fears guys like Nick Punto, Jason Tyner, Luis Castillo, and Jason Bartlett because they always finds ways to get base hits and drive in runs against his team.

Ozzie loves to speak his mind, and may have led to a revolution! lol....I severely doubt this name change will ever happen, but I thought it was cool. I see several places on the Interent that have Minnesota Piranhas merchandise now and it has been being used a lot in the media as a nickname for the Twins. The fans love it too.

I think I may have a new nickname for any interested Minnesota fans - the Twins should be nicknamed the Minneapolis Blitz.

The Minnesota franchise has been known as the Twins for far too long to make an official name change. At most, the Piranhas should be Minnesota's equivalent of the Yankees sometimes going by the name Bronx Bombers.
