IN Demand to match DireTV's offer.

As part of the offer, iN Demand also said it would carry The Baseball Channel when it launches in 2009 to at least the same number of subscribers who will get the channel on DirecTV.

Well this is certainly interesting. MLB has to be salivating over this. Let the bidding begin!

MLB insists that the terms are not equal.

Even though iNDemand specifically made the agreement to be the exact same, except with more potential viewers.

I'm guessing that MLB is saying that the price per customer is lower

I have dish and, none of this is going to get the games for me.
This is why I got dish in the first place.

If you live in the same market as your team, you're still going to get the games on cable. The people who will need to switch over to DirecTV (if this deal goes through) are the ones who follow a team outside of their market, or who simply like to have the entire Extra Innings package. The cost for Extra Innings is just $160 if you order before April 7th. That works out to about $27 per month of baseball season. Or the price of one outfield grandstand ticket at Fenway Park. I've had the Extra Innings package for a couple years now and I'm quite happy with it.

Or you could be in my predicament, where I live we have the Nashville Sounds, the Brewers farm team. The closest MLB teams are the Braves, Reds, Cubs, Cards, White Sox,Indians. Not to say I can't see games, but because of all this BS going on with the MLB, Charter Cable isn't broadcasting the MLB Extra Innings but are offering a rebate of 89.95, to those who get the package online via the MLB.TV

No clue, I was so stunned I couldn't get the package, because I get the CI package, and the channels had changed when baseball started with their titles listing MLB Extra Innins/NHL Center ICE
