A more important series than I would have expected. Sox should take 2 out of 3, if not sweep... but if they don't, the mutters that started when they lost 5 out 7 vs. the Yankees and A's will start to get louder.
But then, Wakefield/Beckett/Schilling should do a good job shutting down the Rockies. Can you imagine? Knucklers one night, a guy who almost threw a no-hitter the next and one of the Cy Young favorites the 3rd? Rockies must be wondering what they did wrong. |

The glass is half full: It's great to see Wakefield pitching so well again; he really dominated against the Rockies tonight.
The glass is half empty: Once again, our offense did next to nothing against a run of the mill starter. When you only score 2 runs a game, you're going to lose more often than you win. Second, that team from New York won its seventh game in a row against the reigning Cy Young Award winner. Game MVP: ![]() No LVP's tonight. |

Wakes was awesome - I got to attend the game and enjoyed the friendly confines. Since I no longer live in Mass, it was my first trip to Fenway since there was still a screen behind the monster.
Fenway looked great - superior improvements to the park. ALthough, NESN is a mess nowadays. The announcers and the goofy dating game stuff (soxappeal?) are ruining the television broadcasts. |

Remy and Orsillo are often really good. Remy, in particular, is very good - sees things pretty early. They do tend to go off on wierd rambles - it's one thing in a 6 run game, but they've gone off on rambles in 2-1 games.
Orsillo tends to start giggling whenever Remy says anything that might be funny. |

I don't mind when Remy and Orsillo go off on one of their gigglefests. If the game is out of hand, what else are they going to talk about to keep people tuned in? They might as well have a little fun.
I actually like the fact that they have distinct personalities. It makes it feel as though you're watching the game with a couple of long-time buddies instead of Generic Announcer Man. |
