Poor Schill, loses the No hitter, at 8 2/3 innings. Very disappointing for him I'm sure, even tho, he'll probably play it down a bit

I'm really disappointed. Falling just one out short of a major milestone really hurts. It's not every day that you see a guy come within one batter of a no-hitter. And if not for Lugo's error, Schilling could have had a perfect game (because Stewart never would have come up to hit...27 up, 27 down.)
I'm happy about the win, I just still feel a sense of loss over what could have been with the no-hitter. Schilling seemed okay with it in the post-game interview with Cervasio. I wonder if he's just trying to play stoic but is privately kicking himself. |
