Mariano finally puts an end to the Yanks losing streak, as Youk pops up to Cano.

Disappointing performance for Ortiz. He had a chance to put the Yankees on the defensive during his first at-bat. He could have given us an early lead and instead grounded into a double play. Then he came up a second time with two runners on base and grounded into another double play. He was a real rally killer. Ramirez wasn't much better but at least made a nice grab in the outfield to extinguish an early Yankee run.

it seemed as though the home plate umpire was bound and determined to save the yankees season today. Incredibly inconsistent and incredibly bad.
Papi has 21 RBIs so it is hard to get down on him. I keep looking for Manny to end this ridiculous slump he is in. I immediately thought thought it was a bad break when the Yankees starter was hurt - because he is so horrible. Oh well, best record in Baseball. Not a bad April. And Lester went 5 innings of shutout ball in Pawtucket last night. |
