Hey Zen, was I right or was I right?

Also, I have a feeling the Sox will find room in the coffers to buy Clement a ring.

WOW, we are the champs again...........this is freaking awesome.

Lowell was a great choice from MVP, but there were so many worthy choices.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day...or, in your case, twenty.

Shouldn't a player have to actually contribute something on the field to be eligible for a ring?

You're probably right that the Red Sox will give Clement a ring, but then how do you justify not giving rings to the other players on the 40-man roster who also never appeared in a game? Do you give rings to Craig Hansen and Dave Pauley even though they were in Pawtucket all year?

Awarding a ring to Clement creates a difficult line-drawing problem. I think it cheapens the memento.

I would agree that Breslow doesn't. I dunno about Clement - I suspect he won't, either, but maybe.

Here's a question - would you want one, were you Clement? Would you feel like you had earned one?

I never thought they looked listless, perhaps. I think Manny and Schilling had to overcome an effect of aging - Schilling's fastball is no longer there, and Manny can't get around on everything anymore - and I think it took a while to adjust.

Drew was completely incapable of doing anything for a long, long time, and Lugo had a terrible slump. Dice-K had an enormous adjustment.

But Swiffer was outstanding all year, and Crisp played his ass off. Heck, I thought Lugo played hard, too, and the bullpen was huge.

I loved this team - after 2004, all I wanted was a team to be the best - a wire to wire lead and a WS. Not so much drama - just excellence.

it wasn't quite there, but this was the first "Best team in baseball" I've ever seen in Boston.

If they bring back Schilling and Lowell, I think they will blow away the AL next year. Okajima won't be as good, but I think Hansen will be good, Delcarmen will good, Dice-K will be better able to handle the season, Drew will have adjusted, Lugo will be better, and I drool at Ellsbury in CF for a season.

I'm with you on that point, but I think Clement is a different story. The guy was cruising along then catches a line drive to the head before blowing his arm out. I think he would've made some sort of the contribution to the team if he'd been able to play.

Interestingly, I would vastly rather the Sox give one to Clement than to Royce Clayton, thought Clayton will get one and Clement probably won't.
