Southland product Randy Wolf, a left-handed starting pitcher who had major elbow surgery 17 months ago, has agreed to sign with the Dodgers for less money and security than other teams offered because he wants to return to L.A., baseball sources said Monday

I like reading about a player signing for less money (and years) just so he can go play where he wants to be.
Of course, Randy Wolf could have only signed a one year deal in hopes of having a good season and getting more years/money next offseason. Then again, if the Phillies did actualy offer Wolf more years/money and Wolf turned it down, it shows how much he wanted to be in California. |

It's in a way sorta like Jamie Moyer. He didn't waive his no trade clause to Houston a couple years ago, but waived it to come to Philly because he wanted to come home. I really like players like that, and I respect Wolf with what he did.
