Finding a backup catcher is high on the Yankees' agenda this offseason, and the agent for Gregg Zaun said last night that he has been in consistent contact with general manager Brian Cashman

The Yankees, meanwhile, lost out on the most attractive backup catcher on the market last night as the Blue Jays reversed course and re-signed Gregg Zaun instead of signing Rod Barajas. The Yankees had an in-person meeting slated with Zaun's agent, T.R. Lewis, for today, but plans changed when Toronto's deal with Barajas apparently fell through.

A little more on the Zaun and Barajas think with the Jays. It appears Barajas backed out of deal with them.
