Orioles, Baez agree to $19 million, 3-year deal

I'm a bit surpised since he was so set on becoming a closer. There should have been a few teams looking to nail down a closer. Though at this price is debatable.

The Orioles need some hitting and maybe another starter, and maybe they can challenge for 2nd in that division.

Baez collapsed completely after mid-season. The wierd thing is that he didn't even pitch many innings (57 if i'm not mistaken). It makes me wonder if he was hiding an injury.

$19 million for a pitcher who's not a heck of alot better than Julio Mateo.

Geez, I'll never understand why teams spend so much on relievers. Aside from the elites, relievers are probably the easiest thing to find in baseball.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. Maybe he was for some reason set on not being a Brave. Maybe he was just making a polite excuse and he knew he could never be consider the full time closer since we signed Wickmen.
