Default Meche close to signing with Royals

Okay as a Royals fan I am a bit pumped that we might finally out bid teams for a quality signing. I am sure it will be over paying.

MECHE CLOSE TO SIGNING WITH KC

5 years and $55 million for Gil Meche.

As a Mariners fan, I just want to say, may god have mercy on your souls. You will soon learn to despise Gil Meche like we have over the last 10 years.

That's too much money. How many wins do you think he'll get? 11?12?

Every deal this off-season has been too much money. The Royals had the money to spend and they have a dire need for pitching. Dayton Moore targeted Meche and went after him.

It's just good to see the Royals finally get the guy they wanted and not settle.

I know that the Royals needed starting pitching, so Gil Meche fills a need, but man is 5 years and $55 million a lot for someone like Meche. But, I guess with the offseason being the way it is, that is what the Royals had to do to fill a need.

Yeah they do fill a need, the guy has potential, and I hope he performs well in KC. I like Kansas City's young group of players, Gordon and Lubanski and Butler, and adding veteran starting pitching is a good way to do.
