Default Mets-Royals Deal?

ESPN reported that the Mets and Royals agreed to a deal in which Brian Bannister goes to Kansas City for Ambiorix Burgos. According to ESPN, it will be announced Wednesday.

Yeah, this is why we all follow the Winter Meetings.

We have been talking about this possible deal in the New York Mets forum. I am okay with this deal. I like what Brian Bannister did for the Mets last season, but he is replaceable, and Ambiorix Burgos should be a nice addition to the bullpen.

I think this is a win win situation for both teams. Bannister will help KC more out next year in my opinion because he won't be under any pressure to perform.

Not too sure how I feel about this trade from a Royals stand point. Burgos appears to have a lot of raw talant. I think he was rushed to the majors to quick and tossed in as a Major league closer. At times he has amazing stuff, but last year watching him get hit all over the park was a bit tough. I'd have liked to keep him and see if they could turn his stuff cosistant. I really don't know a lot about Bannister. I assume he is major league ready?

Bannister was hurt last year, hamstring problems If I remember correctly. I think he'll do ok there, if given the opportunity to be in the rotation.

I would consider Brian Bannister MLB ready. He pitched well for the Mets last season in their starting rotation, until he got injured. He should do well for the Royals, if they do in fact acquire him.
