Rangers Sign Vicente Padilla

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Rangers, on the first full day of the Winter Meetings, have reached an agreement with pitcher Vicente Padilla on a new contract.

Padilla has agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract with an option for a fourth year at $12 million. The agreement is pending a physical.

Rangers come to terms with Padilla

$11 million a year seems like a lot for Vicente Padilla, but I do not know what other teams were competing with the Texas Rangers for Padilla's services, and what they were offering. Plus, with the market the way it is, I guess it is not all that bad. Only time will tell though.
