Default Tom Glavine Signs With Mets

Quote:
NEW YORK -- In the end, all the waiting proved worthwhile for the Mets. Ultimately, their patience paid off, because it was that patience -- their willingness to sit on their hands while Tom Glavine sat on the fence -- that played into the veteran's decision to re-sign with them and not return to the Braves.
Mets, Glavine agree to one-year deal

As a Mets fan, I am happy to hear this news. Tom Glavine pitched very well for the Mets last season, and I expect the same this season. I look forward to seeing him win number 300 in a Mets uniform.

He wanted a no-trade clause from Atlanta, something which they didn't consider.

It was best for Glavine to resign with the Mets. He had a solid year last year and a lot of Braves fans still have hard feelings.
