Of the 27 players with 3,000 hits, a surprising 12 of them got all their first 3,000 with the same team.
Now, what active player now has the most hits, all with the same team that he started out with? |

Well, Craig Biggio, drafted by the Astros and just hit his 3,000th hit.
Garrett Anderson is in second with only 2115

Ichiro Suzuki by the way is in 60th overall for active player hit total, but would be top ten for hits with same team.

I could've answered that one, but I've been out of town and just saw this. Cangratulations to Biggio, He's been one of my favorites for a long time. I love the way he hustles and plays hard. Top 5 all time in doubles isn't bad either.

Garett anderson would be a surprising answer, but he is in second place. There is one other player ahead of him, who could get 3,000 hits all with the same team. (Not counting Biggio. I didn't word the question very well---I meant of those not yet at the 3,000 mark.)

You are entitled to think whatever you wish, but there is no way Jeter comes close to Ichiro. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! The only reason Jeter will get there and Ichiro may not is because of how old he was when he came over. Ichiro would be the ALL TIME hit king had he started in MLB.

To compare 2007 Jeter to 2007 Biggio would not be fair as Biggio is now 41. Look at Biggio at 32, the same age as Jeter last year. That would be th 1998 season. Jeter does not have a season that remotely compares to what Biggio did that year. Biggio from 1994 to 1999 (before the kneww injury) is every bit as good an offensive player as Jeter and a much better defender. Jeter is now at the age where Biggio hurt his knee and was never the same. For that reason Jeter may eventaully have better career stats, but to say that Jeter was a much better player is ridiculous. When Jeter has a 50doubles/50 stolen base season or gets to 650 doubles/3000 hits/1800 runs scored then you have a debate as to better careers.
