Teammate coincidence

Sammny White and Al Zarilla played together as teammates for the Red Sox in 1953. After their careers were over, they did something else in common, and were the only two former position players to ever do that. What did they both do?

Since no response, here is the answer. They were the only two major leaguers who died in Hawaii. (Except for one pitcher with a brief career)
