Here's a team of players, a lot of them with odd names. Can you find a characteristic that ties together a commonality in all their names?
C---Sal Yvars 1B--Kent Hrbek 2B--Jose Oquendo SS--Cesar Izturis 3B--Gil McDougald OF--Ted Uhlaender ----Joe Zdeb ----Joe Szekely P---Howard Ehmke ----Jerry Ujdur ----Mike Cvengros

There is a characterisitic of their names that is shared by a very, very small number of players. Names that have this characteristic often look or sound odd, but not necessarily.

There is no word in most English dictionaries that begins with the two-letter combination at the beginning of each of their nemes. (YV, HR, OQ, etc.) A few larger dictionaries might list words borrowed directly from foreign languages, though, for some combinations, but in general, these letters don't occur at the beginning of any English word.
