Gibbons hasn't caught fire yet. When he does, look out. He hits everybody.
And I don't understand why people don't give him the recognition he deserves as a fielder. Sure, Payton is swifter afoot. But Gibbons is a seasoned firlder, is not slow afoot by any means, and has a better-than-average arm. |

Gibby may not be a potential gold glover... but he's not bad either.... and he is certainly a bit better than Payton at the plate.... hopefully this is only to give Gibby a rest today, because if Payton goes into our starting lineup, God help us

hagers
last year was his only year outside of Colorado, where he hit for any sort of average.. and in that performance last year, he had a whopping 10HR and 59 RBI.... Payton is basically a career bench player with about 3 seasons where he has had full time play.... Jay Payton - Baltimore Orioles - Career Statistics - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
