Default Steve Barber Passes Away

Former Oriole pitcher Steve Barber passed away at age 67. Steve was one of Paul Richard's kids who pitched the Orioles to their first winning season in 1960.

His name brings back a flood of memories including my running into him at the Memorial Stadium parking lot one time. I was going to the ticket window and he was arriving prior to the game and I just happened to walk past him as he was getting out of his car. It was a thrill for me to bump into him, but he thrilled me many times with his performance on the field.

RIP...Steve, it was a pleasure watching you play.
