Thanks to JERK sports writer Paul Ladewski, Ripken cannot be the first ever player to get voted in with 100% of votes. This LOSER of a writer turned in a freaking blank ballot. Not only disrespecting Ripken, but the great Tony Gwynn also. He has a two pronged bias. Not only is he refusing to vote for anyone who even took the field in the steroid era (1993-2004), he has a 'rule of thumb' that he NEVER votes for anyone on the first ballot because "I'd rather vote for someone one year too late than one year too early".
This ******* should have his voting rights taken away. If he wants to not vote for Ripken or Gwynn or anyone, do it for the right reasons. Hell, I have more respect for hippie protestors who stand up for inane and baseless things, than I have for this putz.

Are blank ballots even counted? IN real life elections they aren't.
