Default Rumor: Trade and Signing

Quote:
Atlanta also has discussed trading LaRoche to Baltimore for second baseman Brian Roberts, a person familiar with those talks said, also speaking on condition of anonymity. If the Orioles trade Roberts, they may attempt to sign free agent Mark Loretta, whose agent has had talks with Baltimore.
Yanks discussing deals involving Melky

Baltimore fans, what do you think of the possiblity of trading Brian Roberts for Adam LaRoche, and then signing Mark Loretta?

It won't happen. Brian Roberts is easily the most popular Orioles, and if he goes, they'll lose even more fans than they've already lost from their 47 or so straight years of losing.

Roberts is the true leadoff hitter we need. He is a rare combination of ability for average, eye, some power, and speed that we rarely get in Baltimore.... LaRoche has power, but I would not even come CLOSE to considering a 1 for 1 trade for him, then going after a scrub like Loretta
