Michael Waltrip was penalised 100 points prior to Daytona and earned less than that in the race. He hasn't made a race since so he still has negative points for the season.
That means that very one of us is closer to the Nextel Cup lead than Waltrip. Congratulations, guys!!!!!!!!!! |

What's worse for him is that he hasn't qualified for a race since Daytona. This should change starting in Bristol. But it is too little too late for him.

Yeah Waltrip is doing horrible. He hasn't had a top 10 finish since 2005 to show you how far he has fallen off the map. Waltrip's lack of results are kind of hurting Toyota because he is the posterboy for them. For once DJ didn't have to waste another provisional this week.

I'll hold my judgement on the CoT until it runs at Talladega and/or one of the cookie cutter tracks (Texas, Calif, Chicago et al)

More Waltrip problems; this time off the track...

Not a good year for a race car driver when you are making more headlines for things not related to your driving performance. First the Daytona scandal now this. I think it is pretty fair to speculate the reason he left the scene was because he was drinking. |
