Default Waddell & Hartley will be back in 08

Quote:
The expectations of ownership were met. That's why Atlanta Spirit co-owner Bruce Levenson said that Thrashers general manager Don Waddell and coach Bob Hartley will be back next season.

"They are the coach and GM today," Levenson said by phone on Thursday afternoon. "Don and Bob took us to within one games of the playoffs our first season and the second season they made the playoffs. That's in line with the expectations that we've expressed to them. I'd expect them to continue to improve on that."

As for how long they are under contract, well, frankly, Levenson believes that is none of your business.

Not real sure what Levenson is thinking here, Waddell is a moron and has continued to abuse Thrasher fans patience. So much talent on this team, and yet they continue to squander around in mediocrity.

Well, unless the Lightning, Hurricanes or Capitals retool enough this off season -- Atlanta remains the team to beat even in mediocrity.

I agree John, but with Waddell running the show in Atlanta, he has made many comments that just plain irk me as a fan. He needs to focus on creating a solid team, not being a mouthpiece. Waddell kinda reminds of the Jacobs (Sinden) and the Hawks front office.

Do enough to stay competitive, but god forbid you go the next level (this however excludes the Hawks).
