I would imagine that if they recalled Carlyle, it would be because they wanted him to start. And if so, I would imagine Cormier would be the odd man out.

But it is only a matter of time before they send one of the pitchers down for a position player. They've got 13 pitchers right now.

Eh, in the long run (read that: as long as Chip comes back before too terribly much longer and as long as Bobby comes to his senses and makes Thorman the full time backup 1B), I think the offense will be fine. The rotation after Hudson and Smoltz and the bullpen before Soriano and Wickman are a complete mess, though.

Philthies just took the lead against the Mutts in the 11th. Utley hit a HR to make it 3-2, and Howard just missed a HR on the first pitch of his at bat.

4-2 now. If that holds, we'll be 3.5 behind the Mets, and 3.5 ahead of the Phillies.

The Braves were pathetic in this game against a pitcher who had a 12 ERA coming into the night. Sorry but this game should have been a winner. We blow right now to say the least.

And thats about all I got to say about that.

Let's see...

33-26 (.559) overall.

26-25 (.510) when you exclude the 7-1 start.

9-14 (.391) in our last 23.

5-7 (.417) in our last 12.

Blech.

I'm just thankful that we are still only 3.5 games behind the Mets.

I agree with those that have posted that some shuffling of players needs to be addressed. In addition, I am especially concerned about Chippa.

Yeah, add another loss to all those. And we're now a .500 team exactly over a 52 game stretch.
