I get shouted down elsewhere (heck maybe here too), but James and Davies are nothing better than 4A pitchers. They may one day be MLB pitchers, but not right now. I saw the other day where a scout had said we had a #1 and a #2, then 3 #5's. I think he was dead on. There is no consistency in either pitcher. Just when they have a decent game, you think they'll turn the corner, then they show how well they can theow a straight fastball right down the middle.
I have for years thought we have had a great farm system for developing pitchers, but now I'm beginning to think we are over-valuing what we have (pitching, not position). Last edited by Yogi44; May 28th, 2007 at 11:28 AM. |

thank goodness for smoltz & huddy; figure where we would be right now!!! I am so sick of hearing from Met fans like they have won anything because they finally won the division last year and that qualifies them to talk sh*t for the rest of their existence!

Davies & James both have shown flashes of brilliance, but overwhelmingly their greenness has show through far too often. Too many cases of nerves & a definite lack of confidence from both. Lerew & his one good start against SD hasn't even touched the ability of Germano who opposed him in that game. Time to call back Nimoy's old series "In Search Of" cause da Brvaos are definitely looking for help. Too much inconsistency & too steep a learning curve for the younguns in Baseballs' toughest division.
